PM Plenkovic: Croatian public sees who is the factor of stability, and who has destructive agenda

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said at the start of the government meeting on Thursday that Wednesday's parliamentary debate on the Opposition's motion of no confidence vote against Finance Minister Zdravko Maric showed that the Opposition had neither argument nor evidence to corroborate their demand.

"There are political parties and options that are trying to create an impression, amid media and public pressure, that Maric is to be blamed and should be held responsible, whereas he is competent and has human and professional integrity," Plenkovic said.

Plenkovic said he would never allow that sort of defamation and politically motivated judging of the minister who is a highly competent member of his cabinet and who, together with other ministers, had contributed to the fiscal stabilisation of the country and to the GDP growth.

The premier accused the Bridge party, that has been until recently a junior coalition partner, of voting for the Opposition's motion without discussion and arguments,

Plenkovic also dismissed as "monstrous" the accusations that his cabinet was protecting anybody involved into murky dealings.
