Members of ATJ Lučko participated in an impressive military parade in Paris; Croatia was where it needed to be

The parade, which the Prime Minister described as impressive, was attended by members of the armed forces from numerous countries of the European Union, NATO and the Coalition of the Willing, and the main topic was strengthening Europe's strategic autonomy in terms of defense capabilities.

France, which is the only nuclear power among the members of the European Union and the only permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, plays a leading role in this regard with its capabilities, the Prime Minister said.

He expressed satisfaction that members of the Lučko Anti-Terrorist Unit participated in the parade, emphasizing that it was nice that Croatia was exactly where it needed to be.

He added that France showed in two and a half hours that it knows how to organize such events at the highest level.

Asked whether the Coalition of the Willing as an alliance could be questioned after President Macron's departure or whether he sees the alliance, as some others call it, as a European NATO, the Prime Minister said that all allies confirmed their commitment to NATO at the summit in The Hague last year and this one in Ankara.

These are countries that see Russia's aggression against Ukraine as a major strategic problem for European security and believe that in these circumstances it is good to create certain security guarantees for Ukraine, he said.

"That is the whole point. Not to be some kind of offensive force, but to help Ukraine preserve that peace, in the event that a ceasefire occurs," he explained, adding that this is good for European security.

Soon, he added, those countries participating in the military segment of the Coalition of the Willing will hold military exercises on land, at sea and in the air.
