Croatian PM, European commissioner talk Europe's Digital Single Market
Digital skills drive economic growth in Europe and a comprehensive digital strategy is expected to include Croatia more successfully on Europe's Digital Single Market, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and European Digital Economy and Society Commissioner Mariya Gabriel said on Friday.
The two officials held talks in Zagreb, the government said in a press release.
Gabriel said digital skills were the engine of economic growth in Europe, and commended the dialogue on Europe's digital future held with citizens earlier in the day.
The Croatian government is aware of the importance of a digital society, Plenkovic said, announcing the adoption of a comprehensive Digital Strategy which will facilitate a more successful inclusion of Croatia on Europe's Digital Single Market.
Gabriel welcomed Croatia's attempts to intensify inclusion on that market, saying it was important to enable businesses to undergo digital transformation too.
The digitisation of the public administration is one of the government's key priorities, for which purpose many projects have been prepared and will be realised soon, Plenkovic said.
He added that he talked about this with European Digital Single Market Commissioner Andrus Ansip when he visited Zagreb recently.
