Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Thursday received an award from the Bosnian Vecernji List daily as European leader and lobbyist for Bosnia and Herzegovina for his support to BiH last year to apply for European Union accession candidate status and pushing for the European Commission to give BiH the accession questionnaire.

Speaking at an award ceremony in Mostar, BiH, Plenkovic said he was pleased to receive an award "for supporting BiH on the European journey. That's a thank-you to the Croatian government. We are convinced that the European journey is the best path for BiH's development and for the equality of the three constituent peoples."

He said Croatia would continue to strongly lobby in European institutions for BiH to draw closer to the EU as "a friend, a partner and an ally".
