Parliament votes confidence in new government. PM Plenkovic: We need a new vision and a new approach
After a debate that lasted the whole day, the Croatian parliament on Wednesday evening voted confidence in Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and his government.
Of 139 MPs attending the session, 91 voted for the new government, 45 voted against and three abstained.After the vote, the new ministers were sworn in.

"Our society and economy are faced with deep structural problems. Croatia's population is rapidly ageing, while birth rates are lower and lower every year. The economic crisis has produced consequences for all parts of the society and the economy. The European Commission has placed us together with the members with excessive macroeconomic imbalances, and the Council of the European Union has launched a corrective procedure to reduce our excessive budget deficit. Over the past year, the political stability has been brought into question," PM Plenkovic said.
While pursuing the agenda's goals, the future government will be guided with the highest values from the Constitution: freedom, equality, national equality, gender equality, peace-loving, inviolability of ownership, environmental protection.
