Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Tuesday received the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Dario Scannapieco, for the talks on the cooperation between Croatia and that investment bank, and they also agreed the continuation of cooperation in transport, tourism energy, healthcare and agriculture, the government said in a press release.

PM Plenkovic expressed satisfaction with the cooperation as evidenced in the funding of 6.1 billion euro projects.

According to the EIB figures, the total support of this bank made up 1.2% of the country's GDP, and in these terms Croatia ranks third among the 28 European Union member-states,  Scannapieco said.

Last year, EIB approved the projects, worth 590 million euro, for Croatia, he added, praising the Croatian side for good preparations of the projects concerned.

EIB is also interested in taking part in financing projects important for east Croatia (Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem Project).
