Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic and Croatia's President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic have co-signed the nomination of Daniel Markic for the post of the director-general of the Security and Intelligence Agency (SOA).

Their proposal will be put forward to the parliamentary committee on national security in line with the relevant procedure, according to a press release issued by the government's public relations office.

The two top officials also proposed Pjer Simunovic to become the new head of the Office of the National Security Council (UVNS).

Markic and Simunovic are to replace Dragan Lozancic and Ivica Panenic respectively, whose dismissal was first co-signed by President Grabar-Kitarovic in early February.
