NEW YORK, Sept 27 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader met in New York on Friday his Bulgarian counterpart Sergei Stanishev, who informed him that the Bulgarian parliament would ratify the memorandum on Croatia's admission to NATO very soon, sources in a delegation accompanying the Croatian PM said.
During the talks, held on the margins of the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly, Stanishev told Sanader that the Bulgarian parliament could ratify the document as early as in the second half of October, during an official visit of the Croatian Parliament Speaker to Bulgaria.
Stanishev said that his country strongly supported the speedy completion of Croatia's EU entry talks.
The two officials agreed that relations between the two countries were very good, and that economic cooperation should be improved.
PM Sanader suggested investigating possibilities for introducing flights between Zagreb and Sofia as a means of boosting economic cooperation.
At the end of his week-long visit to New York on Saturday, PM Sanader is expected to meet representatives of the Croat community living in the United States.
