ZAGREB, March 29 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Monday received a European Parliament delegation led by Gunnar Hoekmark, who commended Croatia's progress in the European Union accession process and voiced confidence that Zagreb would be the 28th capital in the EU.
Hoekmark said the Croatian-Slovenian model of resolving problems could have a positive effect on the development of relations in the entire region. He praised the fact that Croatia gave its translation of the EU acquis communautaire to other countries in Southeast Europe.
Kosor said the three main goals of the Croatian government were completion of the EU entry talks, adoption of economic recovery measures, and prevention of corruption at all levels via judicial and administrative reform.
Kosor said the final stage of constitutional amendments would be launched in April.
She also said Croatia was ready to wrap up the EU entry talks this year and that it was committed to helping neighbouring countries in their Euro-Atlantic integration.
Responding to questions from the European Parliament delegation, Kosor said Croatian citizens realised that EU membership would bring stability and security, and that two commissions, comprised of ministers, had been set up for the use of money from the EU financial package.
Kosor underlined that Croatia fully supported Bosnia-Herzegovina's Euro-Atlantic integration as a country of three constituent and equal peoples.
She thanked the delegation's members for their support to Croatia regardless of which political political group they belonged to in the European Parliament.
