ZAGREB, Dec 4 (Hina) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has thanked Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor for sending a firefighting plane and a team of eight soldiers to Israel, where at least 41 people have been killed in a wildfire which broke out on Thursday.
"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has telephoned Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and thanked her for her friendly gesture and for the Croatian government's decision to send a Canadair plane and army staff to help in putting out the fire" .
Expressing her sympathies once again, PM Kosor said the government's decision was the best it could do in the current situation.
At the closed part of its session on Friday, the government decided to send a Canadair firefighting plane with two crews to Israel to help deal with the disaster which occurred in the Carmel Mountains near the northern city of Haifa on Thursday.
At least 41 people have been killed in the fire and thousands have been evacuated. A number of houses in three settlements have burned down.
