Croatia's Finance Minister Slavko Linic and Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak met in Zagreb on Monday with the President of the Croatian-French MEDEF Business Council and CEO of Bouygues Construction Concessions, Charles Paradis, representatives of French companies operating in Croatia and French Embassy officials to discuss economic issues, notably investments, the government's press service said in a statement.
"Economic growth based on investment constitutes the backbone of the government's programme," Linic said while presenting the government's programme relating to economic issues.
The talks focused on energy, infrastructure and tourism projects, as well as on strong financial discipline that began last year. Vrdoljak presented a series of projects relating to investment in energy, which attracted the greatest interest at the meeting, according to the statement.
French Ambassador Michele Boccoz and Paradis said that French companies were interested in investing in Croatia.
"Croatia's entry into the European Union will open up new investment possibilities, so we want to get to know Croatia better," Paradis said.
