German vice chancellor Roesler meets Croatian ministers

German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy and Technology Phillipp Roesler, who is currently heading a trade delegation on an official visit to Croatia, on Monday held separate talks with Croatian Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak and Enterprise Minister Gordan Maras, the Croatian government's public relations office said in a statement.

Germany is Croatia's second biggest trade partner which shows that the two countries' relations are constantly growing. Despite excellent relations and intensive economic cooperation, there is room for promotion of cooperation, notably in light of Croatia's forthcoming EU membership, the statement said.

"We are identifying strategies under which we shall promote nine main branches of industry. In that context we are prepared to help our German friends invest in our country, notably in greenfield projects. We would like to underline that we are intensively working on removal of all possible administrative barriers to make the investing in Croatia easier," Vrdoljak said.

Maras added Croatia wanted to attract as many small and medium-size entrepreneurs from Germany as possible.
