The Croatian government on Thursday adopted a decision to donate a plot for the construction of a Zagreb University campus in Borongaj, east Zagreb.
The approximate market value of the 899,720 square metre property, co-owned by the government, is HRK 1.02 billion.
Science, Education and Sports Minister Zeljko Jovanovic said the University of Zagreb gained amazing prospects with today's government decision and that now everything was up to the university.
Commenting on media headlines that the university campus project was running late because of the government and that this was the reason why EUR 400 million had gone to waste, the minister said this was entirely incorrect and that this was misinformation.
The government on Thursday also adopted amendments to the tariff system for the production of electrical energy from renewables, extending the deadline to companies responsible for those projects to seek bank guarantees from six to nine months.
