Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic visited a Croatian cultural society in Auckland, New Zealand, and together with New Zealand's Social Development Minister Paula Bennett attended a Croatian folklore song and dance programme, the Croatian government said on Saturday.
The Croatian cultural society "King Tomislav", which in 2013 celebrated its 20th anniversary, brings together members of young generations of the Croat immigrant community as well as young people who are not of Croat descent. One of the attractions of the programme attended by PM Milanovic and Minister Bennet was a performance by a group of Samoans who sing in the style of Dalmatian harmony-singing groups.
On Sunday, the Croatian PM is expected to visit the Museum of New Zealand and meet with representatives of the Croat community in Wellington. A meeting with representatives of the Croatian-New Zealand business community in Auckland, also to be held on Sunday, will mark the end of Milanovic's tour of Australia and New Zealand.
