The government sent to parliament from its session on Wednesday amendments to the law on a transparent flow of public funds, obliging all public entrepreneurs to keep separate accounts, whether they received public funding or not.
Finance Minister Slavko Linic explained that the law on transparency of public funds brought into the Croatian legislation EU guidelines on transparency of financial relations between member states and public entrepreneurs as well as overall transparency in entrepreneurship.
The guidelines prescribe keeping separate accounts for public entrepreneurs who have received public funding and for certified public entrepreneurs regardless of whether they received public funding or not, Linic said.
According to him, until now this has not been clearly underlined and the new amendments clarify this issue.
