Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said on Thursday that all 5,000 requests for paid internships will be resolved by the summer as part of active employment policy measures.
"In accordance with the government policy, we have found a way and available European funds through the National Fund," the PM said adding the government could now hire the 5,000 people who applied for this sort of employment.
It is the government's intention to, for this purpose, spend as little as possible from the state budget and as much as possible from available European funds.
"This means that we won't wait for the funds from the Youth Guarantee, but we will start immediately and all 5,000 applications that have been submitted will be resolved by the summer," the PM said.
