Croatia's Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic on Sunday extended a message with best wishes on Passover, or Pesach, a Jewish holy day and festival, commemorating the story of the Exodus, in which the ancient Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt. Passover begins on the 15th day of the month of Nisan.
"Passover, a holiday of hope, salvation and belief in a better life can be encouragement to all of us to foster mutual understanding and mutual respect," Milanovic wrote, among other things, wishing "Hag Pesach Sameach!", according to a press release from the government's public relations office.
