The Croatian government presented the central web portal "e-Savjetovanja" for public consultations, enabling citizens to take active part in law making.
Public Administration Minister Arsen Bauk said the central portal would enhance citizens' participation in decision-making. By launching the
e-consultation website Croatian Government also fulfilled one of the measures to which it has obliged itself under the
Open Government Initiative.
This is a
unique portal in the world, as it brings together all public bodies in one site, said the head of the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs, Igor Vidacak. The web portal provides an insight into open consultation events and makes regulations available.
According to Vidacak, in 2014 of some 15,000 comments sent by citizens in public consultations, 41% have been accepted.
