Prime Minister attended 25th anniversary of establishment "Zito" agribusiness

Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic on Friday visited the offices and manufacturing plants of the Osijek-headquartered agribusiness "Zito" owned by entrepreneur Marko Pipunic, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of that prominent company in east Croatia

During the visit, Milanovic said that Croatia had started moving forward as a result of the performance of his cabinet in the last three and a half years.

He also noted that Croatia was a small country and therefore "it must be an open economy ready to compete".

He said he could see no reason why food products made in Croatia could not be placed on foreign markets.

Currently, Zito employs some 1,500 workers, and it cultivates 22,000 hectares of arable land. It owns silos whose capacity is 300,000 tonnes, and operates six pig farms, two cow farms plus three feeder calves farms.
