Government approved HRK 19M for costs of care for refugees

The caretaker government of Prime Minister Milanovic, that convened for its first meeting after Sunday's parliamentary election, green-lighted an additional 19 million kuna to cover the costs of the management of the ongoing refugee crisis that spilled over to Croatia in mid-September.

The government approved the reimbursement under which the Interior Ministry was entitled to HRK 11.6 million, while some three million kuna will be transferred to the National Protection and Rescue Service (DUZS), and 4.4. million kuna to the directorate of the national stockpiles to reimburse the costs of the transport of migrants.
 
The government gave a consent to the Port of Rijeka for concluding a contract on the reconstruction of the Brajdica railway station and the Brajdica container terminal, and this project is estimated at 35.5 million euros. Of that sum, EUR 30.2 million is to be provided from the EU Cohesion Fund, and the remiend wis to be secured by the Port of Rijeka.
