Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic on Monday met with the head of the Islamic Community in Croatia, Mufti Aziz Hasanovic.
They both agreed that relations between the government and the Islamic Community in Croatia could serve as an example for other European Union member states.
Mufti Hasanovic underscored that their mutual respect could be an example that could be applied to relations toward Christians in Islamic countries, the government's media office said.
Hasanovic was grateful for the government's sponsorship of celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of a law adopted in parliament recognising Islam on an equal footing as other religions in the country.
Prime Minister Oreskovic expressed his satisfaction with relations with the Islamic Community and expressed his support to its activities.
