"President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic visited the SOA headquarters and held the first official meeting with SOA executives. This is the first in a series of regular meetings which will be held in accordance with the agreement between the President, the Prime Minister and the SOA Director," the Office of the President and the government said in a brief statement.
Daniel Markic was appointed new SOA Director last week.
In early February, President Grabar-Kitarovic signed a decision requesting the dismissal of Dragan Lozancic as SOA chief, claiming that he had violated the Security and Intelligence System Act, her office said in a press release then.
The President told Lozancic he no longer enjoyed her trust.
Prime Minister Oreskovic co-signed the decision at the end of March, saying he did not want to make a hasty decision before gathering all information.
On March 25, Grabar-Kitarovic and Oreskovic co-signed the nomination of Daniel Markic for the post of Director-General of the Security and Intelligence Agency (SOA).
