Croatia's exports abroad in the first three months of this year stood at HRK 20.36 billion (up 2.95%) year-on-year, and imports reached 33.35 billion kuna, up 1.8%.
The deficit in goods trading came to HRK 13 billion, rising by 0.07% compared to Q1 2015, according to the DZS preliminary results.
The coverage of imports by exports increased by 0.6 percentage points to 61 percent.
Croatia's exports to other European Union member states rose 2.4% to HRK 13.76 billion in Q1 2016 compared to Q1 2015 and imports from the EU market went up by 3.7% to over 27 billion kuna.
Croatia's exports of goods to non-EU members jumped by 4.1% to 6.6 billion kuna, and imports decreased by 5.6% to 6.3 billion kuna.
