Contract on financing 2nd phase of Dubrovnik Airport construction work signed

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Oleg Butkovic, Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) chief Tomislav Petric, and Dubrovnik Airport Director Roko Tolic, have signed a contract on a European Union grant for the financing of the Dubrovnik Airport Development project, namely Phase 2 of the project, worth more than HRK 1.5 billion.

The contract was signed in Konavle, outside Dubrovnik, on Tuesday.

The signing was also attended by Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Regional Development and EU Funds Minister Gabrijela Zalac.

Phase 2 of the project is worth a total of HRK 1.54 billion of which HRK 1.16 billion is eligible cost, while the grant amounts to HRK 858.56 million. Phase 2 will include infrastructure and sub-infrastructure of the airport, multi-level parking garages, supervision of construction work, an automated system for the reception, security check and shipment of luggage, jet bridges, rescue vehicles and project management and administration.

The implementation of the project, worth a total of HRK 2.1 billion, started with the Transport 2007-2013 operative project.

PM Plenkovic said today's signing was proof of government's commitment to infrastructure development.

He said the government would continue with the completion of the Adriatic-Ionian highway, and the Peljesac Bridge.
