Gov't helping Knin economically to halt emigration

The Croatian government held a meeting in Knin on Friday, a day before central celebrations of Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, and adopted several decisions aimed at providing economic assistance to this town in the Dalmatian hinterland and halting emigration of the local population.

Construction and Zoning Minister Predrag Stromar said that his department had set aside 380 million kuna for energy renovation and the use of renewables in public buildings in Knin and Sibenik-Knin County and tenders for projects in this field would be published this autumn.

Economy Minister Martina Dalic spoke about the local business zones and infrastructure, and other ministers outlined local projects aimed at improving the county's economy and social welfare.

As many as 14 contracts were on the government agenda today, referring to projects worth 180 million kuna for the development of Knin and the county.
