Gov't adopts draft collective agreement for civil servants

The Croatian government on Thursday adopted a draft collective agreement for civil servants, under which the base pay was set at HRK 5,421.54.

The government also decided to launch negotiations on a collective agreement for primary and secondary school employees and for social workers, and appointed negotiating committees for that purpose.

The government recommended to the parliament that Croatian troops continue participating in NATO, EU and UN peace-keeping missions next year.

It proposed that up to 110 soldiers be sent to Afghanistan to serve in the Resolute Support mission and up to 40 troops, with two helicopters, to be sent to Kosovo as part of the KFOR mission.

Under the government proposal, 25 army personnel would be sent to serve in the EU-led Operation Atalanta in Somalia, up to 70 would go to Lebanon (UNIFIL), up to eight to the Western Sahara (MINURSO), and up to 10 to India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP).

The government also proposed that the Croatian parliament adopt a decision to send up to 80 army personnel to take up duties in the NATO Command Structure, the NATO Force Structure and other national/multinational commands as part of NATO-led operations and activities abroad.
