Korcok, who was an official visit to Croatia, is acting foreign minister for the duration of Miroslav Lajcak's year-long term as president of the UN General Assembly.
Korcok spoke of Slovakia's experiences while chairing the EU in the second half of 2016, and expressed Slovakia's readiness to continue cooperation with Croatia within the framework of preparing to chair the Union in the first half of 2020, the press release said.
Plenkovic spoke about the priorities of Croatia's rotating presidency of the Union, stressing that the aim of his government was to make use of that period to bring the impact of European policies and the significance of EU membership closer to the public.
The traditionally friendly and good relations between the two countries were underscored at the meeting as was the successful cooperation between Croatia and Slovakia within the EU framework.
The two officials also discussed Croatia's views on institutional solutions being debated at the EU level as well as Croatia's position on the new multiannual financial framework, the press release added.
