Gov't sends final bill on textbooks to parliament

The government on Wednesday sent to parliament a final bill on textbooks and other educational materials in elementary and high schools expected to result in lighter school bags, more digital teaching and cheaper textbooks.

The final bill was aligned with "all the remarks made in the parliamentary debate and in the government," said Science and Education Minister Blazenka Divjak.

"We are facilitating lighter school bags, lower textbook prices and the possibility of digitisation, which then gives all pupils equal opportunities for the flow of information and use of technology," she added.
