Croatia confirms 9 new COVID-19 patients, one death

Over the past 24 hours, nine new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Croatia, bringing the total to 2,196, and one more person has died, the national civil protection authority said on Monday.

A total of 46,071 persons have been tested, including 1,169 over the past 24 hours, and 4.77% have been positive, Health Minister Vili Beros said at the daily press briefing.

The latest fatality was born in 1936 and had underlying conditions. Twelve COVID-19 patients are on ventilators and 160 are hospitalised, nine fewer than on Sunday, 684 patients have been discharged from hospital over the past 24 hours, nine more than on Monday, and 1,100 have recovered at home, 11 more than on Monday. Recoveries total 1,784.

Beros said seven of the nine new patients were from the island of Brac. Most were self-isolating.

He said the Rijeka University Hospital today discharged its last COVID-19 patient.
