ZAGREB, Dec 22 (Hina) - The next parliamentary elections in Croatia will take place in November 2007, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader announced in a Croatian Television current affairs programme on Thursday evening.
"We have not yet thought about a date, it's too early, but elections will certainly be in November," Sanader said, expressing confidence that his party, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), would have more than 60 seats in the new parliament.
He also expressed hope that the HDZ would receive support from its present coalition partners and centrist parties.
Asked if he meant the Peasant Party (HSS), Sanader said that the HSS was a desirable partner with whom them they would talk.
Responding to the question on what he thought of a coalition of the Party of Rights (HSP), Sanader said he hoped this party would continue its transformation and that it would not tailor its policy to purposes of daily politics.
Sanader said he had no ambition to run for president in 2010, stressing that his main goal was to win another term as prime minister.
