Twenty-eight grant agreements worth HRK 670.3 million, of which HRK 554.2 million co-financed with European Union funds, were signed at the government on Thursday, intended for building business incubators, equipping hospital and social institutions, and preserving the cultural and natural heritage.

Present at the signing were Economy Minister Martina Dalic, Regional Development and EU Funds Minister Gabrijela Zalac, and Central Finance and Contracting Agency head Tomislav Petric.

Nine percent of funds from the Competitiveness and Cohesion Operational Programme were contracted at the beginning of the year, whereas now the absorption rate is 25%.

Zalac said that in seven months of this government's term three times as much EU money was drawn as in the previous three years.
