Croatia will contribute 6 million euros to the GAVI program until 2030
Prime Minister Andrej Plenković participated in the Global Summit in Brussels tonight under the motto "Health and Well-being through Vaccination" organized by the Global Vaccine Alliance (GAVI), the European Union and the Gates Foundation.
The meeting brought together world leaders, organizations, vaccine manufacturers, civil society and the private sector to raise funds for vaccination programs.Prime Minister Plenković stressed that Croatia remains a committed partner in public health, contributing one million euros annually to the GAVI program.
He stated that GAVI's goal is to provide vaccines to 500 million children and the most vulnerable by 2030, thereby making a strong contribution to preserving life and health, equality and prosperity around the world.
"In a world where science and innovation have given us the power to prevent life-threatening diseases, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that no one is left behind. By acting together, we can ensure that vaccines are available to everyone", emphasized Plenković.
He recalled that Croatia has donated more than 3.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, starting with its closest neighbors in Southeast Europe.
