Croatian foreign minister to visit Iran this weekend

Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic will pay an official visit to Iran on Saturday and Sunday, meeting with her host, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and President Hassan Rouhani, the ministry announced on Thursday.

Pusic will also be received by National Consultative Assembly Speaker Ali Larijani and meet with the vice president in charge of environmental protection, Masoumeh Ebtekar, and the vice president in charge of women and family affairs, Shahindokht Molaverdi.

A Croatian foreign minister last visited Iran 12 years ago and this visit is taking place after the easing of sanctions against Iran and Croatia's accession to the European Union.

The talks will address bilateral issues, regional crises, human rights and the fight against terrorism.
