Croatian government adopts negotiating position on agriculture and rural development

ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday adopted a negotiating position on chapter 11 of the acquis communautaire "Agriculture and Rural Development", which will be submitted to the French EU Presidency and the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU and circulated as a document of an intergovernmental conference on Croatia's accession to the EU.

According to a government statement, this will be the 29th negotiating position to be submitted by Croatia on its path to EU membership. In it Zagreb seeks several transitional periods and permanent exemptions for the implementation of the provisions of the acquis communautaire covered by that chapter.

Also at today's session, the government appointed Davor Bozinovic to replace Zeljko Kupresak as State Secretary for European Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
