Croatian PM, Israeli president talk bilateral relations
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Tuesday held talks with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, who is on a two-day visit to Croatia, and the two officials agreed that the first official state visit of an Israeli president was exceptionally important in the context of the future development of friendly relations between the two countries.
They said that growing cooperation in the defence sector was contributing to the development of Croatia-Israeli strategic partnership.
Expressing satisfaction with the quality of the bilateral relations and traditional friendship between Croatia and Israel, PM Plenkovic shared with the Israeli president Croatia's views on the latest developments and challenges in its neighbourhood, the European Union and on the global scale, according to a press release issued by the Croatian government's public relations office.
The two officials agreed that Croatia and Israel have excellent political relations and strong economic cooperation, including the agriculture and tourism sectors.
The numerous Israeli delegation included Economy Minister Eli Cohen, Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel, the president of Israel's Manufacturers Association, Shraga Brosh, the Chairman of the Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute, Adiv Baruch, and the head the International Defense Cooperation Agency of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Michel Ben-Baruch.
