Croatian PM meets Syrian president

ZAGREB, Oct 28 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor met Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Zagreb for talks on strengthening economic relations between the two countries.

"It was concluded that there were realistic possibilities for opening new areas of economic cooperation in the energy sector and tourism and for using Croatian refineries for refining Syrian oil. A need was expressed for signing several agreements".

Cooperation is also possible in the textile industry and in mine removal, since Croatia has extensive experience in the clearance of land mines left over from its 1991-1995 war of independence.
