Plenkovic and Merkel will meet in the afternoon for talks on bilateral issues and the programme and priorities of Croatia's presidency of the Council of the European Union, with emphasis on the negotiating framework for future EU-UK relations and the EU's 2021-27 budget.

They are also expected to talk about preparations for an EU-Western Balkans summit to be held in Zagreb in May.

In the evening, Plenkovic will attend the opening of the International Green Week Berlin 2020. Also present will be German Agriculture Minister Julia Kloeckner, her Croatian counterpart Marija Vuckovic and Croatian Economy Minister Darko Horvat.

On Friday morning, Plenkovic, Kloeckner and Vuckovic will officially open the fair which this year features a record 1,800 exhibitors from 72 countries, including 50 from Croatia.
