Croatian PM Plenkovic meets with Belgian deputy PM

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic met with Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Didier Reynders, in Zagreb on Monday, the prime minister's office said in a press release.

They discussed challenges faced by the European Union in the context of the United Kingdom's departure from the EU, including the impact of Brexit on the EU budget.

Also discussed were migrations, and in that regard Plenkovic and Reynders said that the agreement between the European Union and Turkey should be implemented. They said that better control of the EU's external borders was necessary and that activities with countries of origin and transit should continue.

The meeting also focused on the current situation in Southeast Europe and the Eastern Partnership.
