Croatian PM receives Chinese Chief Justice

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Monday received the visiting Chief Justice and President of the Supreme People's Court of China, Zhou Qiang, who praised the cooperation with the Croatian Supreme Court.

The meeting was also attended by Croatian Justice Minister Ante Sprlje and Supreme Court President Branko Hrvatin who invited his colleague to visit Croatia.

Plenkovic welcomed the cooperation between the Supreme People's Court of China and the Croatian Supreme Court, saying that Zhou Qiang's visit would contribute to the development of the overall bilateral relations and the understanding of the function of the two countries' justice systems.

Zhou Qiang praised the cooperation between the Supreme People's Court of China and the Croatian Supreme Court so far, according to the press release.

The Chinese official also expressed satisfaction with the signed Memorandum of Understanding between the two supreme courts, regulating judiciary cooperation. He underscored the importance of judiciary cooperation in the context of developing economic cooperation, notably investment and trade policies.

Apart from Croatia, Zhou Qiang also visited Switzerland, Portugal, the World Trade Organisation and the World Intellectual Property Organisation.
