Croatian PM receives newly-appointed apostolic nuncio

Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Thursday received the newly-appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Croatia, Mario Roberto Cassari, a government statement said.

Sanader said that relations between Croatia and the Holy See were very good, recalling the Vatican's support to Croatia in the process of gaining independence and stressing that Croatia was now conducting intensive activities to join NATO and the European Union.

Cassari said that his mission would be to continue the exceptionally good relations with all Croatian institutions and to foster tolerance and good relations between Catholics and all other religious communities in Croatia.
