Writing on the social media platform X, Plenković called for the swift implementation of the agreement to end the suffering of the hostages and their families, as well as to resolve the grave humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
"Today's agreement will also hopefully pave the way for a broader political resolution of the conflict," he added.
This was Plenković's response to the announcement by US President Joe Biden that a ceasefire and hostage deal had been reached between Israel and Hamas after 15 months of war in the Gaza Strip, as well as the announcement of large-scale humanitarian aid deliveries to the area.
