Deputy PM Kosor signs UNDP annual plan of activities

Potpredsjednica Vlade i ministrica obitelji, branitelja i međugeneracijske solidarnosti Jadranka Kosor potpisala je danas u Ministarstvu obitelji, branitelja i međugeneracijske solidarnosti Godišnji plan aktivnosti UNDP-a - program Socijalno uključivanje sa stalnim predstavnikom UNDP-a u Hrvatskoj Yuriem Afanasievim.

ZAGREB, May 26 (Hina) - The Croatian Minister of the Family, Veterans' Affairs and Intergenerational Solidarity, Jadranka Kosor, and the UNDP Resident Representative in Croatia, Yuri Afanasiev, on Tuesday signed the UNDP's Annual Plan of Activities relating to the Social Inclusion Programme.

Kosor said her ministry and the UNDP continued their good cooperation with the signing of the Annual Plan, adding that the UNDP would provide support through monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the National Strategy to provide equal opportunities for disabled people.

Speaking of projects aimed at improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, Kosor cited a project to introduce a personal assistant for disabled people and a project to ensure them access to public buildings.

She said that 338 beneficiaries of the project to provide a personal assistant for persons with the highest degree of disability would be presented with a contract for such services on Wednesday.

Afanasiev thanked Kosor for her cooperation, saying that the UN agencies in Croatia would support the implementation of a national campaign against corporal punishment of children.
