Prime Minister Andrej Plenković is attending the third meeting of the European Political Community and the informal meeting of the European Council in Granada, Spain.

In a statement to the media after the first part of the meeting of the European Political Community, Prime Minister Plenković singled out the war in Ukraine and President Volodomir Zelenski's presentation as the most important topics.

He emphasized that the member states of the European Union, as well as all other participants in today's meeting, expressed strong support for Ukraine and President Zelensky. The goal, he added, is for Ukraine to have the economic, financial and military strength to defend itself and function in this time of Russian aggression.

Young people in Croatia have the highest level of digital skills

He also reported that he participated in a round table on the topic of digitization and artificial intelligence.

He emphasized that Croatia has adopted its Digital Strategy for the period until 2032 in order to implement the process of digitization of the state, the economy, but also the entire society. He also mentioned changes to the Labour Law that also apply to working from home, saying that Croatia was among the first to regulate the issue of digital nomads.

He pointed out that, according to Eurostat, young people in Croatia have the highest level of digital skills, but also that the entire population is slowly reaching the average level.

Four fundamental pillars - digitization, demographic revitalization, decarbonization and education

"Our focus is constantly on both economic and social issues. The digitization process is one of the four fundamental processes for the Croatian state and the development of the entire society in this decade, along with demographic revitalization, decarbonization and education," he pointed out and added that these four pillars are part of the National Development Strategy.

This is exactly why, he added, Croatia has three parallel councils - for digital society, for sustainable development and for demographic revitalization.

Those three councils, he said, will contribute to Croatia fully keeping pace with the fourth industrial revolution, where the digitization process is crucial.
