First Deputy Prime Minister Karamarko meets U.S. envoy for Holocaust issues

Deputy PM Karamarko met with US Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues Nicholas Dean and a delegation of the World Jewish Restitution Organisation. They discussed unresolved issues concerning the restitution of Jewish property and other issues of importance to the Jewish community in Croatia.

First Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Karamarko said on Monday he would accelerate the restitution of Jewish property confiscated during the Second World War.

"It has been concluded that the pace of dealing with these problems with previous Croatian governments was too slow," the press release said.

Karamarko said that his intention was "to considerably accelerate the resolution of all the issues."
