Minister Jandrokovic participates in event marking UN Public Service Day

ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Gordan Jandrokovic on Monday participated via video link in an event marking UN Public Service Day and represented Europe at a ceremony at which awards were presented to the best public servants from around the world, the government said in a statement.

The ceremony was held at UN headquarters in New York, with representatives from different continents joining in via video link.

Jandrokovic pointed in his address to the importance of the UN award in the promotion of the efficiency of state administration and cited measures that are being taken by the Croatian government to make public administration a service to Croatian citizens.

Jandrokovic also mentioned the 2008-2011 Strategy for the Reform of Public Administration and its contribution to reducing corruption.
