PM proposed a meeting of the National Security Council (VNS) and once again repeated his invitation to the newly-elected president to attend a meeting of his cabinet which would focus on the country's economic state of affairs.

"Prime Minister Milanovic has forwarded a letter to the president proposing that together they convene a meeting of the National Security Council," the government's spokesman Nikola Jelic told Hina on Monday.

The letter recalls that the top officials are to adopt annual guidelines for the work of the intelligence and security services in 2015, with Milanovic informing Grabar Kitarovic that he and former President Ivo Josipovic did not want to do that during the election campaign.

Milanovic also reiterated that President Grabar Kitarovic may come to a government session whenever it suited her.

The premier also in principle welcomed the initiative from President Grabar Kitarovic to propose the convening of government and that the economic situation be the only topic on the agenda.

"In that context, the premier holds that it is important that the President (Grabar Kitarovic) prepares concrete proposals and models for their implementation as well as assessments of the financial effects of those proposals," Jelic told Hina.
