PM Plenkovic meets Iranian FM

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Thursday met with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to talk about traditionally good relations between the two countries and the importance of strengthening economic cooperation.

Iran's minister is on an official visit to Croatia.

Plenkovic and Zarif underlined traditionally good relations and the need to advance economic cooperation between the two countries, a press release from the government said.

With that aim in mind an economic forum was held and opened by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Martina Dalic.

Plenkovic and Zarif advocated defusing tensions in the Middle East and the talks touched on the situation in Southeast Europe.
