Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Monday received the Governor of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), Rolf Wenzel, the government said in a press release.

Plenkovic expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the government and CEB so far, adding that he hoped the cooperation would be deepened in social infrastructure, notably in the health and education sectors.

Plenkovic underlined that one of the priorities of his government was even regional development as well as financial support for small and medium-sized businesses.

The PM briefed the CEB governor about the Slavonia-Baranja-Srijem project and its implementation, calling on the bank to provide active support to projects which would contribute to the demographic and economic revival of Croatia's east.

Wenzel stressed that CEB was prepared to assume a more active role in projects designed to facilitate Croatia's development. So far, CEB has supported development projects in Croatia worth EUR 853 million, the press release said.
