PM receives new British ambassador

ZAGREB, Oct 14 (Hina) - Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Tuesday received new British Ambassador David Graeme Blunt, who said his country strongly supported Croatia's accession to Euro-Atlantic institutions.

There are no obstacles to the completion of the ratification of the protocol on Croatia's NATO accession before the alliance's summit on 3-4 April 2009, said Blunt.

He offered Great Britain's assistance in Croatia's European Union accession negotiations so that they could be wrapped up as soon as possible.

Sanader said there was no doubt that Croatian-British relations would continue to develop during Blunt's term.

He said Croatia was ready to cooperate more tightly with Great Britain in order to join Euro-Atlantic structures as soon as possible and to strengthen the strategic bilateral partnership.
