Opening the government session on Thursday, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said that following his decision to dismiss the four minister of the Bridge party, he would present new ministers in parliament after the local elections, scheduled for May 21.

"Parliament has decided to be adjourned until the local election. A new parliamentary session will start after the local elections which is when we are going to present new ministers in the government," Plenkovic said.

He stressed it was important for the government, during the election campaign, to concentrate on its tasks and continue to function in accordance with its programme.

In this context, Plenkovic expressed satisfaction with the fact that the inaugural session of the Demographic Revival Council was held Wednesday when a number of important measures were presented aimed at solving this issue strategically important for the country's future.

The government will send to parliament next week a bill of amendments to the law on maternity and parent allowances, under which those allowances would be increased.
